Apart from some trials in the US of exactly this, I am afraid I do not know where, if you look at the French-German-Italian joint venture WIND (Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom, ENEL which is the national electric company -- that is ALL the electric power of the country) is the big new competitor to Telecom Italia. WIND is building out exactly this kind of capability. Their right of ways extend to each and every house and building in the country. This is one of the reasons why Telecom Italia is having dirty pants and desperately trying to be bought (don't believe the papers) by Deutsche Telekom to force Deutsche Telekom out of the WIND joint venture. Meanwhile having a wonderful time with PAIR. Bye bye
