Operating on my regular MO, reading usenet, I came across a thread in the Sun hardware group asking about availability of USIII. Here is a response from someone whose email address is at TI. This should make QwikSand feel better.<g>

As for the question on problems with the chip the answer is NO.
We have been flooding Sun with Cheetahs for quite a while now.

Unless they are pre loading all the next generation Starfires with
1024 processors, and the rest of their enterprise line maxed out.
In accordance with their pay as you grow policy. Or their marketing
weenies are waiting for a weak quarter to boost sales.
