Isn't it funny that such a major critic of the Bush administration could try to entice underage girls into a rendezvouz, get off with a warning, do it again three months later, get arrested, have the charges dropped on a promise to keep his nose clean in the future, and the government and national media doesn't even notice the whole thing till eighteen months later. And yet leftists call the US a police state.

In Iraq, a real police state, a law was enacted a couple years ago making the penalty for criticizing Saddam (in any way) tongue amputation. Check Amnesty International which I've posted to you before.

Not too long ago, I heard part of an interview with a former prisoner from Iraq. His crime had been hearing a joke about Saddam. He and a bunch of friends were together in a house and someone told a joke about Saddam. Unfortunately, one of the "friends" informed on them. Everyone, except the informer, who heard the joke was arrested and spent years in prison, were tortured, and most died there. The guy being interviewed was the only one still alive.
