Harry, maybe the IBM blowup last made it easy for them to make the decision. They did not have many solid tech companies left in the Dow (HWP is the type that is not expected to go anywhere either--same problems as IBM). Both companies are having problems short term.
I guess they finally decided to make the move to ones that are predicting good quarters leading into Y2K. Still puzzled why the stocks did not move up.

I decided to make some big buys today and plan to do the same tomorrow while reducing positions in some others. I am betting on some quick move up before this week or next week when it gets added.
Planning on picking up Intel as well tomorrow.
