Using free WiFi is always a bit of a risk, but I think with 5G hubs, these security concerns will be gone or at least hacking will require much much more sophistication.

I personally use FIOS and a router I bought from Verizon. I had this setup in my former house in Long Island, and now in MA. I found that FIOS is more reliable than cable, as I had cable broadband as well as a bit on a promotional offer from Spectrum. Spectrum broadband worked, but would gum up every so often, which could be caused either by router issues, or by backbone issues. When I ran a PingPlotter app, I would generally find packet losses somewhere on the backbone in conjunction with high pings. I never had this issue with FIOS in both locations. I partly bought both houses because FIOS was available in them.
