Kennedy inherited the Bay of pigs from Eisenhower's CIA and was duped early on in his presidency. He was very angry about it and made a lot of changes afterward. Read the Best and the Brightest by David Halberstram. Get the movie 13 days. It is based on transcripts of the meetings of the cuban missle crises. But for Kennedy we would have had a nuclear war with Russia and all be dead. The generals wanted to bomb Cuba which would have started it. This is why we have a civilion as commandedr in chief. You are just throwing stuff out. You do not think most people look back at John Kennedy with respect? How do they look back at Nixon?
