Eric, Your's, and a previous response, has spurred me to dig deeper into JINI. As you might expect, I've found myself dumber than I thought. I think I was able to establish a better root understanding of JINI, but would like your help.

I would really like to hear a plain English discussion that clearly defines what JINI does, how it does it, to what will it adapt (as they say), with what other standards (communication protocols, etc.) will it exist, what products are competitive to JINI and any other points you feel merit mentioning. I would assume that there's a certain amount of processor power required to run JINI, but would guess the balance of the processor budget would depend on the specific JINI "appliance." Regards, pmcw
