Given the need to retain accuracy over a wide voltage, temperature and system noise spec, I'd expect any technical developments that support analog processing to support digital processing even further. After all, it's the digitization that protects you from the temperature effects etc. etc. IOW, if you can guarantee the voltage levels inside, say, an analog computation unit within a few millivolts over a wide temperature range on millions of units, then surely you could use that technology to get even greater yield on a lower-voltage, higher speed digital product and wind up making a lot more money.

Just a quick thought -- I have no knowledge whatsoever of any Intel development in this area and do not speak for Intel.
