You pointed to the ultimate reason behind media's silence.
Lot of media companies have strong financial relation in the form of large advertising dollars and in some cases partial equity position.
But I hope DOJ and companies like SUNW, ORCLE, AOL make note of it to exploit to their advantage as there is criminal mind at work and all those web sites can be compromised. That may also lead to compromising our privacy.
