I am not surprised that Sullivan is angry. This is an issue of great importance to him.

I am just bemused - having been married almost 24 years, I don't expect perfect harmony in my marital relationship or any other. You take the bitter with the sweet, and as long as there is more sweet than bitter, it's good enough.

The Republican party takes some positions I don't agree with, and Dubya for sure takes some positions I don't agree with, but the way I look at it, in November my choices will be Dubya, Kerry or maybe Edwards, and Ralph. Not much of a contest for me.

How much of a surprise can it be that Republicans don't favor gay marriage?
