No arrests have been made, but authorities are questioning a Clifton man who was the third partner in the Internet stock business with the slain men, Alain Chalem and Maier Lehmann, Kaye said. He declined to identify him.

Chalem, too, was thought of fondly by those who knew him.

Ada Garay-Logan of Clifton, who with her husband, Joseph, was a close friend of Chalem's, described him as dog lover who traveled often with his two bulldogs, Spikey and Sophia Loren.

"He was a great guy," she said. "He was always trying to solve problems for himself and for other people. . . . He was thinking about enjoying his life. He had new plans and ideas."

Hmmm... I wonder... Let's see now. At one time her name might have been Ada Garay, and her husband might go variously by Joseph or Joe or Joey Logan, with perhaps a Jr. at the end.

Much more to come...
