You heard wrong. Kerry was a true hero and braved bullets to save a Green Beret then also save his boat and chase a RPG wielding VC into the bush whre he killed him mano a mano. The right wing hate this and try to smear him by distorting what really happened. Kerry received three wounds. Though minor wounds they all count. Three wounds you you get to go home. It wasn't as if he tried to get a minor wound instead of his arms blown off. DOn't be a numbskull. The right wing also attacks Max Clemand for gettibng three limbs blown off, saying he's not a hero either. I guess nothing short of saying at home dodging the draft and going AWOl qualified as heroics with the right wing.
