As reported earlier today by CNBC, Cowen & Co. downgraded AOL
to a "hold" from a "buy".
Euphemistically, a "hold" means "sell" as WS firms don't
like to displease a present or potential customer.
I wonder what the MER analyst is saying these days after
getting their customers in in low to mid-30s/ share ?
One other thing to note is that recently, AOL announced it will
also include cash compensation/ bonuses besides stock options.
It tells me that the management does not have much faith in future
price appreciation from these levels.
My gut feeling is that sooner or later, Steve Case will have
to sell out to Microsoft. It will be called "strategic
alliance". // CA
