Nintendo and GT Interactive Enter N64 Software Publishing Agreement

`Hexen' Among First Titles

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 16, 1997--Taking another firm step into the burgeoning
64-bit games market, GT Interactive Software Corp has entered into an agreement with Nintendo
of America Inc. whereby GT Interactive will publish several software titles for the Nintendo 64, the
world's first true 64-bit game machine.

GT Interactive plans to publish up to three N64 titles in the next year for the North American
market, the first of which -- id Software's HEXEN -- is slated for introduction during the first half of
this year. In addition, this year GT Interactive will unveil one of the largest lineups of N64 titles from

GT Interactive's agreement with Midway provides the company with rights to all Midway titles for
console markets outside of the U.S.

"We are excited to be working with Nintendo to create software for the N64, the premier 64-bit
game machine," said Ron Chaimowitz, president and chief executive officer for GT Interactive. "By
combining the N64's impressive true 3-D processing capabilities with GT Interactive's captivating
lineup, we believe we will bring the gaming world some of its most entertaining software yet."

"We are excited to have a high caliber publisher such as GT Interactive creating innovative software
for the N64," said Howard Lincoln, chairman of Nintendo of America Inc. "With GT Interactive's
track record of bringing the world new and challenging play experiences, we are confident its N64
entries will provide the ultimate in entertainment."

Designed by Raven Software and co-produced by id Software, HEXEN is a highly realistic 3D
first-person combat action game that allows players to become one of three classes of heroes on a
nightmarish quest to destroy the evil rulers that once controlled them. Reactive environments will
provide a heightened sense of reality as players become immersed in HEXEN's spellbinding world.
