Guy: Could be options related. However, there is a glaring gap that was left at the 228-233 level that technicians would love to see filled before the next leg can start in earnest. This gap is within the trading channel as opposed to a breakaway gap from previous highs. Filling the gap could come by next week sometime IMO before a sustained run up into the split date. And JDSU could go lower than that gap price of 228 which may be a bit overdone because of possible thin trading next week and Fed meeting coming up. The Fed meeting is sure to spook bond traders and the nervous nellies/greybeards.

You'll see them all on CNBC next week trying to talk down the market again. The talk will go like this: "We'd need a healthy correction of 10-15% because of over-valuation and interest rates", says the greybeard. "What should investors do", says the investor. "Lighten up, especially in techs, and go to some cash." "So I should sell my shares to create a correction so you can buy those stocks 10-15% cheaper", says the investor. "Well yes," says the greybeard. "Why?" "Because I missed the boat and want to get on," says the greybeard. "Nah, I don't want to do that - you can drown in that cyclical and value crap you were trying to push several months ago", says the investor. "You want to get on board - pay up or get lost. It's a new era and sipping Coca Cola is not healthy anymore."
