Hitchens, himself, is flawed. He's, right now, doing the best he can to save face from how he reported in the war's run-up. Unlike Andrew Sullivan, among several others, Hitchens has yet to repent. He's grasping at straws.
If you're looking for any kind of verification of the Hersh reporting, this can best be seen from the behavior of high-ranking military officials, former CIA and Department of State officials.

In my view, it's best not to ignore the Hersh reporting, keeping in mind how he reported in the run-up to the war--he was right; Hitchens was wrong. Hitchens still is wrong! |
