In followup to my rather dumb statement about having to be at .0001sq mils, so I did some investigating thru some sources and the scoop I found out is that MU has a shrink planned in a .18 process that would take the 64M down to a $5 or so , cost. If this is true and MU does accomplish this would mean that MU again achieves the lowest die size in the industry and might be able to get back into profitability. I understand their current 64M is using a .25um geometry, so they would bypass .21um.
MU is known for being the best at shrinks, so this would be a very positive development.
See, guys, I can find positive things out there. This data is not in writing, I do have an article that talks about going from .25 to .21 that Joseph wrote from Montgomery on 2/23.
So, several months from now, Micron could possibly get back in the black and the stock, depending on when MU would announce this, could send the stock back up more favorably.
And of course I would turn bull again.
I would be interested if anyone has some facts or additional data on MU plans on their 64M shrinks, estimated die per wafer. etc.

Good trading.
