Frank,

>>Regarding your "Q2 announcement day" question, I think IOMG will have sales which equal their manufacturing capability. Just because the demand may be for say 500,000,000 drives doesn't mean they are capable of manufacturing enough to meet demand. I predict that IOMG isn't capable of manufacturing many more than they manufactured in the previous quarter since they haven't added new capacity since then. <<

So, you're basically predicting, "Iomega [or any business] cannot manufacture more than they have capacity to do so...AND...Iomega cannot sell more than they manufacture!" That's going out on a limb.

Well, aside from the fact that Jaz wasn't even fully ramped-up in the first quarter...

...Do you possess facts of any obstacles to Iomega adding more capacity for the 3rd and 4th quarters? What facts lead you to believe that Iomega cannot or will not respond to demands for new capacity? Or are you simply applying "trailing analysis" to capacity forecasts also, expecting, I suppose, that Kim Edwards will sit on his "zip" and do nothing rather than eagerly and joyfully attend to his "problem" of "too much demand for his products." Do you think KE will not seek out new capacity? Do you know something factual about Iomega's contracts that prevents it from seeking vendor second sources? What facts do you possess about Iomega's lack of commitment to and/or non-capabilities for expanding capacity? Or do your long-range forecasts for Iomega rely on a I'll-predict-it-when-I-see-it methodology?

(Texas Instruments and SSI -- interesting combo)
