Duker - OT - ... try this case in the 2nd or 3rd most liberal state in the Union and ... viola: $4.9 billion ... Just FYI, the trial was in downtown LA, and almost all (80 or 90 percent) of civil cases tried in the downtown court are decided in favor of the plaintiff - (source is a civil defense attorney who practices in the LA area - if the trial is downtown the defense essentially concedes the trial and sets up for the appeal.) What's sad is that most of the population is completely incapable of understanding that trades must be made in automobiles and that ultimately it does come down to dollars vs safety. All cars could be as safe a race cars (which are only dangerous because of their speed), but then no one could afford a car. Clark
