1X Ramp Profile- FWIW I was going thru the London Day Presentation (favorite source material) looking up something else and took a closer look at Tony’s Chart on the “Accelerating Ramp for CDMA2000 1X Deployments” . We’ve been chastising PCS and VZN for the apparent foot dragging in using their most valuable and differentiating asset- 3G CDMA2000 1X. Perhaps rightly or wrongly so, but this chart reveals that CDMA2000 1X in Korea began to accelerate only after the 12th month following the launch. There were, perhaps, some technology problems that were still being resolved in the initial months after launch, but it appears it still took some time before the acceleration ramp began. There were 1.9 M subs after 12 months, 4.2 after 15, 7.4 after 18, 9.3 after 21, and 14.0 after 24 months . Perhaps in our eagerness to observe the 1X success in the U.S., we’re being a little too critical of PCS and VZN
