Agree, but note that it is interesting that all the media attention and speculation has done nothing but keep her in the running with Romney!

LindyB thought initially that the resignation was the end of Palin. I have a more jaundiced view, as it may have been a very shrewd move.

Even more complex will be the GOP's reaction to her resignation. She's a disaster, in the final analysis, because she is utterly unelectable. She arouses a depth of anti-Palin emotion which is just as strong as that of her supporters. You don't see it now because we are not in a cycle. But it is there.

The challenge for the GOP is to show the base why she cannot be elected and to find a role for her. Not an easy thing to do considering the depth of feeling she arouses in a substantial minority. And the extent of her ambition.

We'll see, a very interesting development for a student of politics.
