Comment On AOL’s Leading News Story on 07/08/09
Every time that AOL publishes a “fluff piece” like the news article that
Lynn Sweet wrote today about the Obama family, the less inclined I am
to read any future stories featured by AOL. The fact that your editorial
staff made a judgment that what eight year old Sasha Obama thinks at
4:00am in the morning is newsworthy speaks volumes about how
challenging it is that your browser to distinguish between real 'news'
and pop-culture fodder which is complete foolishness!
With all of the important news events unfolding around the world, I am
disappointed to think that AOL would waste their subscriber’s time
with a story about what Sasha thinks or, for that matter, what sleeveless
ensemble her mother Michelle wears on any given Wednesday evening
when she hosts parties at the White House featuring expensive
Hollywood celebrities while we the people are losing our jobs, our life's
savings and our freedoms. Why doesn’t AOL take the lead as a
responsible media outlet and inform us about events that actually
impact on our lives? Take a good look around. This country is quickly
spiraling into Socialism. Our hard-fought freedoms are being swept
away by congressmen who pass bills in the dead of night without even
reading them, and this country, under a pacifist president, is in the
process of lowering its defenses at the very time when many of our
adversaries around the world want to destroy us. We are being slowly
marginalized from outside our borders by countries that use our own
hard-earned, ‘debt dollars’ against us and by a president, with zero
experience at running anything except his pre-programmed
teleprompter, who criticizes our country in an attempt to appease
dictators who are trying to bury us. Within our borders, we are being
attacked by a liberal Democrat administration whose GOAL it is to
increase unemployment and encourage higher gas prices. Obama’s
ill-founded domestic policies are causing more and more Americans to
become increasingly dependent upon the government for survival.
Thanks to his “Cap and Trade” bill and the resultant higher energy
prices that it promises if the Senate passes it, Americans will be forced
into 'green cars' that most everyone currently rejects. Thanks to the
Kennedy bill to nationalize the health care system, Americans will have
to suffer rationed medical care that will severely restrict the excellent
services that we now receive. States are going broke while at the same
time they are increasing their services; and the national debt is being
increased by trillions of dollars to fund a non-stimululating stimulus bill
which makes no mention at all about sealing our borders which would
prevent this country from continuing to be overrun by illegal aliens. No,
actually I’m mistaken! Earlier this week Obama said that he would
send unarmed volunteers from the southern states to the border to
convince the armed drug trafficers that they are unwelcome and should
return to Mexico.
The world is in chaos! Communism is growing by leaps and bounds in
South America; Korea is launching missiles and hacking our DOD
(Department of Defense) computers; Iran is torturing and murdering
peace protesters while it threatens Israel, and with those international
events as a partial backdrop, the clueless administration is saddled with
a president and vice president who frequently contradict each other on
important policy issues. Their inaction and “wait and see” stance on
virtually every issue broadcasts to the world with a bullhorn that
AMERICA IS WEAK and is now vulnerable for both military and
economic attack.
Is this the “change that we can be proud of?” I think not! The sad irony
is that eventually our freedom of speech in this country will be taken
away and you literary liberals at AOL will suddenly discover that you
will not have the authorization from the United Socialist States of
America to publish any news stories EXCEPT those about what Sasha
Obama thinks! I appeal to you to start using your 'bully pulpit' for the
good of the people while you can because as Americans, we need to
stand up against the creeping tyranny that is slowly destroying our
constitutional freedoms. Your freedom to editorialize on the internet is
in just as much jeopardy as our citizen’s right of free speech! |
