Great post! Java will be the standard and MSFT will be forced
to develop for Java, NOT the ActiveX nonsense. SUNW refuses
to give the 100% pure java logo to ActiveX. Without that
certification from SUNW, third party developers would be stupid
to use ActiveX INSTEAD of Java. Some (like ODIS) has developed
apps. with Java and ActiveX. But Java is still the first choice.
One day soon, MSFT will compete in the Java platform and do
a good job of it too. It would be stupid for MSFT to write 95%
Java apps. and not making them to work on other platforms.
When MSFT comes in the Java game, they will not be the only
game in town.
But I do worry about Corel's chances. They might screw-up and
ruin that great WordPerfect name.
