PARIS -- IBM will host a half-day press conference here next week during which it will announce two new servers, a new desktop PC, a new workstation, two new ThinkPad notebooks, and new management tools, a IBM spokeswoman here confirmed Tuesday.

At an event on April 15 called "E-Tools: Connecting Businesses to the Future," the hardware, software, and services giant will also discuss its global strategy for the year and will present a 12-month plan for IBM's Personal System Group.

All new hardware announced next Wednesday will be available within a month, the spokeswoman said. The Paris event will begin eight hours before a similar news event starts in New York, the spokeswoman added.

IBM Corp., in Armonk, N.Y., can be reached at (914) 765-1900 or
ibm.com.
