My dad, who deeded the timeshare to me, actually got his money out of it. It is a floating week in Daytona Beach. He never stayed there once. He always exchanged it through RCI, often for some pretty nice places such as Williamsburg and Bermuda.

The RCI membership timeshares also allow you to get last minute deals to rent a property at reduced rates. We stayed in Scottsdale at a golf resort one night a few years back for something like $69.

Aside from the above, I have not gotten any value out of the thing. It's a millstone around my neck.
