In the beginning [before all time] was the Word [Christ] and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.

All things were made and came into existance through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.
That book you hold..not words on a page...not how to live you life..not a thing to quote from. That book IS God, It is as if He is standing right next to you talking to you as you read it. The words are full of life, and they live and cut down to the very soul and spirit of man - no one can hide from Him (Word)
Hebrews 4:12-13
For the Word that God speaks is Alive and full of Power - making it active, operative, energizing and efective; it is sharper than any two edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and the [immortal] spirit, and of the joints and marrow [that is, of the deepest parts of our nature] exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.

And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.
That is why someone cannot read the Word of God and not be convicted, and touched with the power of God. Nothing can hide from his word..
