If you would have PURCHASED the magazine, or <g> read the article online as I did, you would have been able to take your time with the article and read how Scotty is also reverse mentoring Jack Welsh. Perhaps the copy you were reading had pages stuck together. --- Anyway, Scott has been on a tear about Sun being mentored by GE and Jack Welsh (Scott's personal idol) for more than a year. Scott is much more interested in picking up GE manufacturing and service efficiencies than picking up the GE chairmanship. This question has come up and Scott answered it pretty matter of factly. Again, you can hear Scotty speak to this in the annual meeting playback. Also, in the most recent (Q3) concall, Scott talks about Sun becoming one of the largest product companies of all time. That would presumably include, in his mind, himself at the helm. (IMO) -JCJ
