Jim, Thanks for reposting the relevant news. The only point that bothers me is Northern Telecom. My understanding from past reading is that the technology was developed jointly by Northern and Amati, and that Northern turned the technology over to them in exchange for some shares and a ROYALTY-FREE licence. Now Northern is apparently proceeding with another related technology rather than using the Motorola chip. If you need the reference for this news, I will search for it. Any thoughts on this development. John
