Hi Philip: I have yet to short AOL , except via a few puts, but waterhouse tells me if I want shares to short they have plenty, maybe it's some brokers have them and some don't. One of the things I understand is when you borrow the stocks..they are borrowed from someone else who has a margin account..stocks that are not in a margin account can not be borrowed..perhaps Schwab does not have any AOL tickets in margin accounts.. I would never short anyway with out some type of call position to limit the risk.."never"..I came to AOL to late to buy any long term calls that I could use that way..but I'v thought of it. The ones who bought the calls back last Nov. have the advantage when it comes to shorting, I still may try it if she gets rolling again..seems to me she is going kinda flat. ----------------------------- NOW change subject..HAVE YOU TRIED "MY YAHOO" it's neat going to get rid of PCNs pointcast..MY YAHOO does it better and is fast.. tucows.myriad.net if you don't have it go to the url above and download..then set it up..need win95 for it to run..it's a very good program and don't take up hlf the bandwidth or disk space PCN does..so I'm tossing PCN in the trash..o-when you set it up it will say you can type in 30 stock picks..well I did an edit and started adding some..heck I'v got about 40 in it now and no problem, you can set it up the way you want..with things like this how does AOL have a chance..? Jim Ps just got another 50hr free disk from AOL..<G> they are desperate and will be dumping xcit stock before long to raise some cash, xcit looks bet down but I think she is going lower..she don't hold a candle to Yahoo..and when AOL dumps out she will be lucky if he can hold $6..
