Lindy, A radical reduction in military spending is a natural consequence of the welfare state. Every county who has gone down this road has had to reduce their military. In my mind the biggest threat facing America and the American Dream is economic ruin - not the Taliban or other world nut cases. We are broke and getting broker. The US can no longer afford to be the policeman of the world. Soon the cry will be Yankee come back. We will have to say sorry - we have bigger problems at home. When the mid year budget review finally comes out I believe the numbers will be absolutely stunning - and shocking. Bob
