Cable companies have built up a large reservoir of bad will in their customers and their products are antiquated. Our local Media One franchise has a cable internet kluge that downloads via cable but uploads go out the phone line. Plus it's enormously expensive.

The future belongs to whomever can execute their strategy most efficiently. Will that be AT&T? How well have they reinvented themselves?
