Sybase was a particular case though if I remeber correctly. The guys we wanted the most to recruit were Powerbuilder/Sybase people and some PB/Oracle, PB/informix(?). But after Powerbuilder, Sybase was the talent most in demand even those who only had Sybase experience. Sybase was flying.

I guess Sybase got a lot of moola for the association, Microsoft just took the technology and then split, and Sybase just crashed and burned no need for them anymore. From glory to ruin in one easy step.
