Quite seriously, not trying to ignite jealousy,

Of course not man :) I'm teasing you.. this thread is like that saloon in the westerns where you leave your guns at the door ... and we get to just enjoy our commonalities :)

we have all types here... and we all love gardening and sharing knowledge and experience...

it's a great place to just be human :0)

I am paying 70% of my income for rent.).

Yeah I'm, having to decide on that in the next year ... My daughter staying in Moncton NB presently sent me an ad for a very cute little home on half an acre in town.. 160K !!!! Moncton (been there quite a few times) has all the amenities I'd need.. I'm still leaning to the Laurentians though for the skiing and proximity to family and friends dating back to high school.. the price for a very nice setup is about double.. still nicely in the range...

For greens like kale and collards

I noticed I had a lot of volunteer kale from last year when I ninja'd into my plot last week :) Mustard greens are good too and act as a good deterrent for potato beetle development when tilled in before planting potatoes..

little knowing the deep underlying plan I kinda sorta have...

we seem to be on the same wavelength on that one :)
