(BSNS WIRE) Covad Communications Available for Comment On FCC Decision Regarding the Definition of Unbundled Network Elements

Business Editors

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 1999--Today the Federal Communications Commission will be holding an Open Meeting. During that meeting it will issue a decision regarding the Implementation of the Local Competition Provisions of the
Telecommunications Act of 1996 (CC Docket No. 96-98). The FCC's order
on this issue is expected to provide Covad and other CLECs with
definitions of unbundled network elements from the incumbent local
exchange carriers (ILEC), which could help level the playing field in
offering telecommunication services.

Dhruv Khanna, Covad's General Counsel and Executive Vice President, and Tom Koutsky, Covad's Assistant General Counsel are available for public comment on this development. If you are interested in an interview, please contact:
