Originally posted on the Qualcomm thread....it has a slight emphasis on CDMA. For those interested there are a lot more numbers during the CC that are pertinent for PCS investors.

Some notes from the SprintPCS CC for this quarter.....available at 1-888-775-8673. Note that their was no mention of 1xrtt....

- Net adds for the quarter were 883,000....this includes a sale of 10,000 subs to an affiliate.

- 500,000 data users.....200,000 on a monthly basis and 300,000 "casual users".

- Business now makes up 20% of the sub base. They saw a 80% sequential rise in the number of business data users.

- Text messaging will be brought out later this year

- 14% Sequential rise in minutes used....I couldnt believe I heard this number. This seems amazing...and will emphasize the voice capicity of CDMA.

- ARPU went up from $54 to $58...a VERY significant increase.

- ASP's on phones were stable.

- During the second quarter the enhance vocoder capability of phones was turned on....should lead to increased capacity.

- Operating cash flow was +$11m....the first positive number in PCS's history.

- Expect 900,000 new subs during the next quarter and 4m for the year. This means they are expecting 1.34m new subs during the 4th quarter.

- Capital Expenditures should be around $3B for the year....

For those of you who actually read all the way through this summary....what do you think of an investment in PCS? The total market cap is only $58 Billion. Voicestream just got a bid for over $50 Billion and they only have 1.2m customers.
