These guys are shameless! Companies call analyst update meetings
all the time. But analysts don't use mere announcement of the meeting as excuse to hype the stock, unless there's pre-announcement by the companies of the subject(s) or convincing rumor about it.

OTOH, if Cowen is acting on tips from AOL, then AOL is at great
legal risk in providing favored access to material information.
I tend to think AOL feels under too much scrutiny to even dare that.
