True cc, but much of their success will be linked to their entrenchment in this area. It is also more tangible to us common-folk. So, back to the discussion on DVD... Are any of you familar with Divx. This is a private company that is supported by Circuit City. They are introducing a pay-per-view version of DVD. It should be out next year and will challenge the standard even to a greater extent. It can play DVD, but DVD can't play Divx. An article in Stereo Review, Dec. '97, stated that Macrovision was also involved in their analogue protection. Anyone know more on this? Garrett
