rates as of 02/27/02 from bloomberg.com

Mortgage Rates Curr. 6 Mon
15 year mortgage 5.78 6.02
30 year mortgage 6.30 6.44
1 year ARM 4.78 5.45

these rates have recently gone down a lot in the last two months. there is one pending. i heard that there were record used home sales in january. so why are the rates headed lower?

the fed is indicating a weak economic recovery which may be less than what was expected.

also it was thought that the fed would be increasing rates in the near months, but now i am hearing that the rates might not be raised as much or at all for the next couple months.

this might be of some use.
