All said, though, I'd be MUCH farther ahead right now with a simple buy-and-hold strategy -- hindsight being 20/20 of course. For now, I prefer the notion of buying things that are reasonably priced and have a good chance of rising significantly over a period of years. You've heard it before, lower transaction costs, yadda, yadda, yadda... Makes sense to me anyway. If I'm in the mood for gambling, I'd rather go to Las Vegas or even buy a lotto ticket than try to time the market. Anyway, to each his own. Mark
