Thank you, Edwarda. I am sorry to hear about the hecticness, and sorry also about 3Com. I don't actually have any venison, and deer season is over, although I might could get some at one of the gourmet grocery stores. (I put in the "might could" just for you.<g>)
I have a three pound piece of flank steak I am dithering on how to prepare braised. I got a package of flank from Costco, so of course it was enormous, half of it went to fajitas, and I am either going to try a recipe that calls for post roasting it rolled up and tied with a string, and braised with roasted bones, which is alleged to give it a roast flavor, or else I am going to cut it up and make a kind of stroganoff with 2 pounds of portabello mushrooms, which I also got at Costco. I am leaning toward the latter, because I don't have any bones to roast, although I did see some at BJ's, which is like Costco but much better for food and household stuff and not nearly so good for durable items and office stuff. Then there is Sam's, which is a long drive away, but would probably be my favorite if it were closer. The kids like Costco because they can have pizza while I shop.
My life is not exactly hectic, but I have been spending hours a day on the net looking for houses and then driving around looking at houses. The house I really wanted is under contract, and everything else is being snapped up. The realtors say it is a lack of supply, not much new stuff coming on the market right now. I think it is caused by the interest rates going up, that's what lit a fire under me. |
