AOL might also take over the Internet.

That might be true if you think of the Internet as covering only the US. But there's the rest of the world to consider; and there, MSFT is in everyone's face every day, making its presence felt. With MSFT it's not only the Internet or Windows or any one thing. The company is a kudzu plant that gets into everything everywhere. IMHO AOL just doesn't have that kind of penetration.
