I've done it many times, I admit. I've told many people to write a draft of their reference, citing everything they're most proud of and including documents, and that I'd add my own thoughts. It's a matter of saving time.

That is SOP if you have any significant number of evaluations or references to write. How anyone older than 16 can think anything of it, I don't know.

I've also asked for raises. The money was legal tender just as if it hadn't been triggered by my request.
