Ephraim:

Welcome to the thread!

Since day traders are in cash much of the time, what would be a good thing to do with your money when you are not in a particular stock? I know that my broker (Datek) pays me interest on my account. I assume that Datek puts my money in a money market fund overnight and that is what I'm getting interest on. Is there a better place to put the money when it is not being used?

Cash is good. Interest income is good! I view the monthly interest earned by my account as an added benefit. I wouldn't recommend trying to find another 'better way' to put this money to work, unless it is something virtually risk-free. Personally, I don't know of any other risk free options available, although some firms might have another higher yielding money fund to roll the cash into. If anyone knows of a better option, please post it on the thread.

Good luck,
signed,
fully in cash - Eric
