Colber, Daily, Maher: They are the best and are probably responsible for the dems winning the last elections. I like to find the smartest guys I can and then listen to them. Like Gib and EC-lol. Fareed Zakaria is right smack at the top of the intellectual elite. In a sense he is like Daily and Colbert in that what they are teaching all of us is PERSPECTIVE. But his thining is more in the vein of Tom Friedman and Michael Kingsly (this guy may be the absolute champ) heads up slate on the internet. There is a sort of irony here. Humor is the juxtapositioning of reality. But in order to juxtaposition it, you have to understand it first. An example mught be Hillary Clinton is so tough, she makes Margret Thatcher look like Mary Poppins-lol. Bad Joke. Colbert, Daily, Maher, Franken, are all geniuses. And Chris Rock and Dave Chapelle. I think maybe the two smartes are Maher and Colbert, but the rest are right there. The hope for the world may be that the kids who othrwise would not try to understand the news, will listen to these guys because they are funny. And they will learn by accident. And once one learns how the world really works it becomes interesting to see how things will shake out. When I was in graduate school at the U of Washington I ran with a lot of jews. Three jewish girlfriends-lol?? Jews educate everyone, so jewish women were attractive to me. Anyway, they all hated college because the jewish culture requires they get A's so they can get advanced degrees and they have to study so hard. BUT, I also noticed they were all intellectuals and that once one learns all of that stuff they become intellectuals whether they liked studying or not. Once people learn reality, there is no going back.
