Elite and elitist, are different things.

The former is more about family, group, financial, political, social, or achievement based status. The later is an attitude.

I'm not making a comment about Rush directly, not saying he is, or isn't elite, or elitist. But you can be "elite" in some ways and still reasonably complain about elitist attitudes.

In terms of "pulling down $38mil a year", well that isn't the only social status hierarchy. Not even in the US, and definitely not in places where you have more heredity status.
