Intel may be a tough one for awhile if the company continues to migrate margins down
toward 50% as the company guides (although I believe they forecast roughly flat
margins for next quarter). On the other hand, it is unbelievable that the company can
cut prices the way they did this quarter (the figures I saw were for roughly 50% price
cuts on the most popular chips) and still have up revenues and decent earnigs. Fear of
Intel competitors making inroads should surely diminish. Who can compete with that?
As for the rest of the high tech sector, the company reported record units sold. Haven't
seen the number yet but it must be big given the huge price cuts. Should bode very well
for the box makers and disk drives once people realize this.

"once people realize this" - problem is that the small investors trade against fear. while sales are booming in the computer sector, a general flat trading day may occur due to flash memory sales (who really cares about flash memory other than those who own Scandisk?) look for Gateway to pump earnings along with other computer sector stocks including earnings beating numbers from IOM. it is generally always the small investor who ends up getting the short end.
