What about the specs of the drive itself--doesn't the release say something about the transfer rate (I can't remember for sure and am too tired to look it up) being around 3.0MB/sec? Isn't that about twice as slow as the Zip? We've already beat the compatibility issue to death on this thread, and I don't think that back-compatibility, by itself, is any great advantage. So what do we have here? A slower drive (I think) that, although compatible with the old 3.5s, is not compatible with the emerging Zip standard. Looks like an uphill battle to me.

One thing I think we all need to except is that competition will inevitably come to this part of the woods. Let's just hope IOM can handle it. They've done a pretty good job so far. . .
