Note patent number 5459867, the method of arranging "kernels" on the drive. Think of the ATOMM technology relative to the Zip in this manner: ATOMM represents a cement sidewalk, what you as an indivdual write upon that sidewalk, hopsctoch, pictures, letters to your mother, etc., is what talks to the computer. The sidewalk, or the cement, doesn't communicate to the computer, the program does. IOM owns the programs etched upon the disk surface which control the Zip features, and herein lies the magic and money of the Zip. Anyone can own a cement sidewalk, but not everyone is an excellent programmer or artist. |
