"Unfortunate, but true, but it's more true under Republicans, especially this Bush."

If the Democrats had continued in power, it wouldn't have made much difference. Now I don't know if they would have gone as far as setting up an equivalent of the K Street Project, but that just puts the whole thing in focus.

You have said before that the Dems are just as capable of the corruption that the GOP has been practicing although they probably would have taken it as far as the GOP. And I agree with you.

But corruption is hardly the whole story for me. The GOP and Bush were trying to impose a lifestyle change on the entire nation including invading another country plus ignoring the Constitution and our democracy. In fact, Bush continues to behave in this fashion even as the GOP seems to be coming to their senses.

I think its really critical to point out both issues and to acknowledge that the second issue was by far the more serious one. Don't get me wrong......I don't like corruption and the wasting of the National Treasury but a threat to our democracy is far more threatening and disturbing......at least to me.

I think its also important to point out that the Dems are not likely to present the kind of ideological threat that the GOP has presented. Its a critical difference that I think this country needs to address in some form.
