I had posted a message prior to 3209 responding to your question but it somehow was lost. I will repeat the info in the lost post.

NCs can function as more than just Java virtual machines. With the
proper software loaded, they can function as Xterminals, ICA
terminals or a number of different terminals. Windows apps are now
accessible by Xterminals and ICA terminals thanks to MultiuserNT products from Citrix, NCD and other vendors. So, NCs can in fact
access Windows apps. For an explanation of how this works, check
out IBM's whitepaper on their NC:

The MultiuserNT products described above are key to the acceptance
of NCs in the corporate environment. You can read more about them
